BoC has a continuing diary in the Japanese music magazing "What's In?"  This will be the fourth volume of their diary.  This special column is published monthly in the magazine.  Check out the "What's In?" webpage each month for a picture of the band!

 

Takahashi Diary has been updated!  The new picture shows the whole band sitting down in on the stage.  Also go on and read what BoC has been up to. 

 

BoC's own Chama has a book coming out soon called "Comic World Fun."  The book is going to be released by the same company who releases the monthly magazine Rockin' On Japan.  The book showcase's Chama's work. In the article they refer to this release as his "auto book."  (Does this mean it is part of his autobiography?)  I am not sure of the exact contents of the book.  If any one can translate please post in the message board.  Thanks!

The DVD release has come and gone!  So far the DVD has held a top five spot in the Oricon Charts.  You can track BoC's success at the Oricon Charts site.   Be sure to explore the site to find more information on other Japanese artists. 

 

Bump is the second artist featured in January's BPASS.  You can always go to BPASS official website and click on Special Issue.  This will then lead you to more options where you can view pictures of the top featured bands in the magazine.  Right now you can view a special BoC picture.

 

Bump of Chicken now has a daily column in What's In? Magazine.  If anyone is able to translate the column's title please post it on the message board.  This is the second issue where Bump's column has been featured.  A special picture is shown every month on the What's In? website for all of the artists that have a column.  You can view Bump's picture here.

The new Bump of Chicken PV is now out!  You can find it within various downloading programs.  Once you have seen the PV write out your comments on the message board.

 

BoC will release a new DVD that will include the PV's (promotional videos) for Only Lonely Glory, Snow Smile, Sailing Day, Lostman, and Sharin no Uta.  The Arue PV will serve as a bonus track.  Thank you to Koony for letting all the fans know about this news on the message board! Hopefully, this will lead to a Concert DVD. 

 

The new single is track eight from their newest album Yggdrasil.  This is truly a very touching song.  The c/w with this single are  Yume no Kainushi ("dream shepherd" or "shepherd of dreams" Thanks chiharu for the translation!)  and Snow Smile (acoustic version).  These should be amazing songs so go ahead and preorder the single due 12/01/04!  Again thanks to Koony for the release information!

 

 

 

Bump of Chicken Videos.

You can watch the band during their photo shoot for What's In? Magazine.  It is very interesting to see the band during the photo shoots..they seem really bored!  The good news is that you can hear what it seems to be some new tracks of their album Yggrasil!  The band is also shown playing a game similar to Jenga.  The last video clip is a short interview with the band.

The new cover can now be seen at YesAsia.com.  The picture is very simple and it seems to be a black and white sketch of a big tree.  This stays with the theme of the Norse myth.  For more information about the Norse myth check the 7/9/04 post. 

 

 

Bump of Chicken is currently on the cover of Rockin' On Japan                 (August issue).  Check the magazine's website  for the picture of the cover.

Bump of Chicken's contribution in The Pillow's 15th Anniversary album will be a cover of the song Hybrid Rainbow.  This is one of The Pillows' classic songs that most Jpop fans have heard at least once!  The tracklisting for the album can be found here.  The title of the album will be Synchronized Lockers and it will be released 9/16/04. 

 

 

Thanks to Koon I was informed that the reason Bump of Chicken will not be performing in the Rock in Japan Festival this summer is because they will be taking part in the Pusan International Rock Festival.  This festival is going to be held in Tadaepo Beach.  The festival will run August 5th through the 7th.  For the specific information they have about BoC check here and click on Bump of Chicken.

The single debuted as #1 on the Oricon charts (which is the equivalent to our Billboard charts).  The single has been #1 for the past three days.  Also the Oricon site has a little article on the bands new album release with a little picture of the band.   

 

 

As many of you out there I have been waiting for new Bump of Chicken material and now it's finally here!  The new album will be released 8/25/04!  The new album 『ユグドラシル』(yugudorashiru) will contain the singles Snow Smile, Lostman, Sailing Day, and Only Lonely Glory and 10 new songs...this brings the album to 14 tracks.  The title comes from a Norse myth.  Boo from Centigrade-J explains the myth in detail in the Cent-J forums.  Thanks again to Koon for the news on the new album.

The band will start their 2004 tour on September 17th at Zepp Tokyo.  The tickets will be sold for 40 Yen (about 38 USD).  The rise in ticket prices leads me to believe that BoC's popularity is growing! The tour will go on until November 20th.

 

 

BoC is one of the many bands that will be doing covers of The Pillows' songs.  As of right now it is not known what song they will be covering.  Among the artists contributing to the album are: Jiro from GLAY, Going Under Ground, and Mr. Children.  Check The Pillows website for the rest of the artists.  Thanks to Koon for the reminder.

Finally...a new Bump of Chicken single!  The translated title for this single is "Only Lonely Glory."  I am excited to hear of this new release scheduled for July 7th.  This will be BoC first new release since a year and four months ago.  (I am not considering Arue since it is a song from their indies album FLAME VEIN.

 

Centigrade-J has updated their site with new Bump of Chicken translations including Arue (R.A.), Knife, and Snow Smile.  Be sure to check them out and give a huge thanks on the message board to Boo and the gang for their great work!

 

This is a special TV event that will be held on Space Shower TV on 5.29.04.  You can find the different shows that will be aired on this day at the following site.  The shows include: Space Shower Chart Show, Bump TV Live Special, SSS Bump of Chicken, Live Shower Bump of Chicken, Bump Day Free Live, and Bump of Chicken History. I hope someone will record this and make it available to the internet community.

Arue has made it to the number two spot on the Oricon charts.  BoC is right behind Ayumi Hamasaki.  Check out the Oricon chart to keep track on BoC's status. 

 

BoC has decide to appear in Tower Records on 5.6.04!  You can check out the official Tower Records site for more information.  Once you get there find the performance date to learn more about the locale. 

 

Bump of Chicken has decided to hold a free live on 5.29.04! I hope some new pictures will be taken so that fans outside of Japan will get to see how the band is doing.

 

BoC has decided to release Arue from their FLAME VEIN album as a "new" single coming out 3.31.04!  Watch out for the PV on Winmx.  The PV shows how the band has grown over the years and the many concerts they have put on.
